Pelikan Edelstein range and Herbin 1670 Anniversary Edition ordered

Hi,
I have ordered some sought-for, high end inks:

Pelikan Edelstein (1.96 GBP/sample):
Topaz
Sapphire
Ruby
Aventurine

Herbin:
1670 Anniversary Limited Edition (2.28 GBP/sample)

Pelikan Edelstein are said to be among
the best-behaved inks available. Colours are quite beautiful, but you'll get the chance to see some swabs and see for yourself. And of course you can test the inks yourselves, if you want...

Herbin 1670 Anniversary has been created to celebrate 340 years of J Herbin brand. The company was founded by J. Herbin, a sailor. That's why you see the anchor on the box.To create his first inks, he used secret knowledge he gathered while sailing in India. In 30 years his business started selling their inks in the "Latin Quarter" of Paris, and produced "Perle des Encres" - the jewel among inks.

For many years they have supplied inks to French Royal Family, and more recently to numerous schools. In XIX century they also started making stationery.

Personally, this brand is among my favourites. Not as saturated, as PR or Noodlers, nor "bulletproof", but behaves extremely well in all pens and on all papers I have used.

Special thanks to pentrace.com - their article on the company has been very useful in writing that short summary.

Adam
